Meet Natalie Brannon!
- Name of your horse (barn name or registered): Shocktop SA
- Horse’s age and discipline: 12 – Western, some Hunter (And I am 12 also).
- Tell us a fun fact about your horse (favorite treat? funny quirk?): He smacks his lips a lot, and he loves apples.
- How long have you had your horse or been involved in horse related activities? 1 month owned. Riding since November 2019.
- Can you share the story of how your love for horses began and what drew you to become a part of the Arabian Horse Breeders Association of Oregon club? I started collecting horse figure toys and watched some horse shows and fell in love with horses. My current horse trainer has Arabians and that’s why I have an Arabian/Quarter horse now.
- What is your favorite horsey activity? I love cantering my horse and being with him and loving him. Grooming him is also fun.
- What are your goals for this year with your horse (showing, training, personal growth or otherwise)? My main goal is to be able to show my horse for the first time.
- Can you share a memorable experience, special achievement or great memory that you’ve had with an Arabian horse that has left a lasting impression on you? I loved when I was able to canter bareback on a horse named Rocky. And going to the regional show in Nampa, ID was a great experience. I earned several ribbons and learned a lot.
- Do you have any hobbies? I like making arts and crafts.
- Favorite place that you have traveled to for a horse event (show, trail ride, clinic, performance)? Nampa, ID for regionals in 2023.
- What are you reading or listening to? Country music, Harry Potter series books.
- What about your horse excites you the most right now? He’s a love bug and likes cuddles and he has past experience in shows.
- Tell us a fun fact that people probably don’t know about you! I have a best friend who also loves horses. I introduced her to my trainer, Sarah Robertson, and now Lucy takes lessons too.
